We LITERALLY have crystals in our ears, necessary for proper inner ear function.
UCLA researchers have discovered that tiny crystals called otoliths—necessary parts of a properly functioning inner ear—form not as the direct result of a gene product, but rather as the result of the physical, swaying motion of hair-like cilia during development. As adult vertebrate bodies move about, otoliths are pulled by gravity and enable the detection of movement, which is vital for maintaining balance. The researchers studied these crystals in fish embryos, where they accumulate as gelatinous proteins mixed with calcium carbonate. When fully and properly formed, the crystals lie atop sensitive beds of cilia, which are fine, hair-like cellular extensions that are responsible for translating roll, pitch, and yaw information from the semicircular canals of vertebrates’ ears. ![]() As we take care of our home Mother Earth, we take care of ourselves. There is a divine connection, for we cannot exist without her. We are directly connected to all life - opposed to separate as many believe in their imprisoned minds. It is time to renew ourselves - our bodies/lands, minds/oceans, breath/air & Fire our individual yet collective faiths - to reflect and restructure our mentality/reality for the benefit of all beings. As Radhanath Swami preaches "We are care takers of divine property." And yes it is time to take responsibility by acting as the benevolent beings, care takers and lovers we all are. For in strength there is unity and unified we can and will create miracles to save our home and ourselves from the distraction of our minds. |
